Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingobium hydrophobicum was originally described and validly published by Chen et al. 2016. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Feng et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Stolz et al. 2000) Pal et al. 2006 emend. Feng et al. 2019 in 2019.
