Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Enterobacter hormaechei steigerwaltii was originally described by Hoffmann et al. 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 172 in 2016. Wu et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Hoffmann et al. 2016) Wu et al. 2020 in 2020. Wu et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Gu et al. 2014 in 2020.
