Nomenclatural History
The family Caedobacteriaceae was originally proposed by Preer et al. 1974. Preer and Preer corrected this name from (sic) to . Garrity et al. replaced this illegitimate name with Garrity et al. 2007 in 2007.

This name is illegitimate because the spelling does not match that of the Validly Published genus upon which it is based.
