The species Peptoniphilus lacydonensis was originally described by Beye et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 182 in 2018. Aujoulat et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Peptoniphilus rhinitidis Jung et al. 2021
in 2021.
Syllabification and etymology must be corrected as follows: (la.cy.do.nen’sis. N.L. masc. adj. lacydonensis pertaining to Lacydo, the ancient port of Marseille).
