Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Cutibacterium acnes acnes was originally described by Nouioui et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 184 in 2018. Dekio et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2019. In 2018, Nouioui et al. reduced Cutibacterium acnes (Dekio et al. 2015) Scholz and Kilian 2016 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 to the rank of subspecies.
