The genus Ponticoccus was originally proposed by Lee and Lee 2008. Bernard et al. replaced this illegitimate name with
Enemella Bernard et al. 2020
in 2020.
This name is illegitimate because it is a later homonym of Ponticoccus Hwang and Cho 2008.
