The species Nitratidesulfovibrio termitidis was originally described and validly published by Waite et al. 2020. established as a later homotypic synonym of (Trinkerl et al. 1991) Wan et al. 2021 in 2015. Waite et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species Trinkerl et al. 1991 into the genus Waite et al. 2020.
