The species Cupidesulfovibrio termitidis was originally described and validly published by Wan et al. 2021. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of (Trinkerl et al. 1991) Waite et al. 2020 pro synon. Cupidesulfovibrio termitidis (Trinkerl et al. 1991) Wan et al. 2021 in 2015. Wan et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species Trinkerl et al. 1991 into the genus Wan et al. 2021.
