Nomenclatural History

The species Streptomyces murinus was originally described by Frommer 1959. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Madhaiyan et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Komaki in 2021. Madhaiyan et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces griseofuscus Sakamoto et al. 1962 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2020. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces costaricanus Esnard et al. 1995
in 2021. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces phaeogriseichromatogenes Goodfellow et al. 2008
in 2021.
