Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptomyces olivoreticuli olivoreticuli was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. Witt and Stackebrandt formed this name in 1990 by placing the subspecies (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 into the species (ex Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980). In 1990, Witt and Stackebrandt reduced (ex Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies.
