Nomenclatural History
This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 97 in 2020. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from (sic) to . The species Streptomyces scabiei was originally described by Thaxter 1891. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1989 the name was revived and validly published by Lambert and Loria.
