Nomenclatural History
The genus Actinomadura was originally proposed by Lechevalier and Lechevalier 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Zhao et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2015. Zhang et al. transferred the members of Agre and Guzeva 1975 (Approved Lists 1980) into this genus in 2001.
