Nomenclatural History

The genus Excellospora was originally proposed by Agre and Guzeva 1975. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Zhang et al. transferred the members of this genus into
Actinomadura Lechevalier and Lechevalier 1970 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Zhao et al. 2015
in 2001.
