The species Actinomadura malachitica was originally described by Lavrova et al. 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Miyadoh et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Microtetraspora viridis Nonomura and Ohara 1971 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1989.
