Nomenclatural History
The species Porphyromonas endodontalis was originally described and validly published by Shah and Collins 1988. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Shah and Collins formed this name in 1988 by placing the species van Steenbergen et al. 1984 into the genus Shah and Collins 1988 emend. Kawamura et al. 2015.
