Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Prevotella ruminicola brevis was originally described and validly published by Avguštin et al. 1997. Shah and Collins formed this name in 1990 by placing the subspecies Bryant et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) into the species (Bryant et al. 1958) Shah and Collins 1990 emend. García-López et al. 2019. Avguštin et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Bryant et al. 1958) Avguštin et al. 1997 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016 in 1997.
