Nomenclatural History
The class Flavobacteria was originally proposed by Cavalier-Smith 1998. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 79 in 2005. Cavalier-Smith published an emended description of this class in 2002. Euzéby replaced this illegitimate name with (Cavalier-Smith 1998) Bernardet 2012 in 2012.
