Nomenclatural History
The species Cytophaga uliginosa was originally described by Reichenbach 1989. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 31 in 1989. Reichenbach formed this name in 1989 by placing the species ZoBell and Upham 1944 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Winogradsky 1929 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nakagawa and Yamasato 1996. In 2000, Bowman established as the basonym of (ZoBell and Upham 1944) Bowman 2000 .
