Nomenclatural History	The species Azomonotrichon macrocytogenes was originally described by Thompson and Skerman 1979. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 6 in 1981. Thompson and Skerman formed this name in 1979 by placing the species Azotobacter macrocytogenes Jensen 1955 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Azomonotrichon Thompson and Skerman 1981.
