Nomenclatural History
The species Brachyspira intermedia was originally described and validly published by Hampson and La 2006. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Hampson and La formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Stanton et al. 1997 into the genus Hovind-Hougen et al. 1983.
