The subspecies Aquaspirillum peregrinum integrum was originally described by Terasaki 1979. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 2005, Pot and Gillis established as the basonym of (Terasaki 1973) Pot and Gillis 2005 . In 2007, Yoon et al. established as the basonym of (Terasaki 1973) Yoon et al. 2007 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
