Nomenclatural History
The species Halomonas variabilis was originally described and validly published by Dobson and Franzmann 1996. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 93 in 2014. Dobson and Franzmann formed this name in 1996 by placing the species Fendrich 1989 into the genus Vreeland et al. 1980 emend. Dobson and Franzmann 1996.
