Nomenclatural History
The species Methanosaeta thermoacetophila was originally described and validly published by Patel and Sprott 1990. Patel and Sprott formed this name in 1990 by placing the species corrig. Nozhevnikova and Chudina 1988 into the genus Patel and Sprott 1990. This name replaces the name (Kamagata et al. 1992) Boone and Kamagata 1998 .
