Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Clavibacter michiganense insidiosum was originally described and validly published by Davis et al. 1984. Zgurskaya et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Davis et al. formed this name in 1984 by placing the subspecies (McCulloch 1925) Carlson and Vidaver 1982 into the species (sic) (Smith 1910) Davis et al. 1984 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 corrig. (Smith 1910) Davis et al. 1984 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018. Li et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (McCulloch 1925) Li et al. 2019 in 2018.
