Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Leifsonia xyli cynodontis was originally described and validly published by Evtushenko et al. 2000. Suzuki et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Davis et al. 1984) Suzuki et al. 2000 in 1999. Evtushenko et al. formed this name in 2000 by placing the subspecies Davis et al. 1984 into the species (Davis et al. 1984) Evtushenko et al. 2000.
