Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces caeruleus was originally described by Pridham et al. 1958. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. published an emended description of this species in 2002. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. Lanoot et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Smith et al. 1956 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2002. Lanoot et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Wallick et al. 1956 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2002. Tamura et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Tamura et al. 2000 in 2008. In 2021, Teo et al. established as the basonym of (Baldacci 1944) Teo et al. 2021 .
