Streptomyces hygroscopicus hygroscopicus (Jensen 1931) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki et al. 2022
Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptomyces hygroscopicus hygroscopicus was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2017. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Komaki et al. in 2022. In 1956, Yüntsen et al. reduced (Jensen 1931) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki et al. 2022 to the rank of subspecies. Komaki et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Anderson and Gottlieb 1952 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017. Komaki et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Gause et al. 1986 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2017.
