Nomenclatural History
The species Sphaerochaeta coccoides was originally described by Abt et al. 2012. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 147 in 2012. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species Dröge et al. 2006 into the genus Ritalahti et al. 2012 emend. Bidzhieva et al. 2020. In 2020, Bidzhieva et al. established as the basonym of (Dröge et al. 2006) Bidzhieva et al. 2020 .
