The species Nitratidesulfovibrio oxamicus was originally described and validly published by Waite et al. 2020. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of (Postgate and Campbell 1966) Wan et al. 2021 pro synon. Nitratidesulfovibrio oxamicus (Postgate and Campbell 1966) Waite et al. 2020 in 2015. Waite et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species (Postgate and Campbell 1966) López-Cortés et al. 2006 into the genus Waite et al. 2020.
