Nomenclatural History
The species Desulfovibrio oxamicus was originally described and validly published by López-Cortés et al. 2006. López-Cortés et al. elevated the subspecies Postgate and Campbell 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of species to form this name in 2006. In 2020, Waite et al. established as the basonym of (Postgate and Campbell 1966) Waite et al. 2020 . In 2021, Wan et al. established as the basonym of (Postgate and Campbell 1966) Wan et al. 2021 pro synon. Nitratidesulfovibrio oxamicus (Postgate and Campbell 1966) Waite et al. 2020 .
