Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingobacterium heparinum was originally described by Takeuchi and Yokota 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 47 in 1993. Takeuchi and Yokota formed this name in 1992 by placing the species (Payza and Korn 1956) Christensen 1980 into the genus Yabuuchi et al. 1983 emend. Choi and Lee 2012. In 1998, Steyn et al. established as the basonym of (Payza and Korn 1956) Steyn et al. 1998 emend. Zhou et al. 2012 .
